“This is hands down the best Airbnb I have stayed in so far. The box house is so peaceful and has a relaxing vibe. Every angle of the house interior looks like it is straight from an Architectural Digest photo shoot. Matt and Kat were extremely helpful and accommodating. Perfect location and not too far up the hill, but still feel tucked in the hills. My favorite part was falling asleep at night listening to the waterfall feature. I would recommend this house to anyone and hope to come again.”

“The place was really beautiful and stunning. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few days while doing business remotely and it was such a treat. The design elements, views, open living-room, sunlight, etc. There wasn’t a thing I didn’t enjoy about it. Both Kat and Matt were easy and efficient to speak with, which is always helpful. The area the house is located has minimal cell service but we used WiFi the whole time or the house phone for anything else. Wasn’t an issue at all. I would recommend anyone staying here for a tranquil Hollywood hills stay.”

“This place is amazing! It truly is an experience to stay here! The house is so unique with the style of the architecture, with huge windows that open up to nature, grounds with beautiful plants and fish, a large tub to soak in surrounded by birds and greenery! Sunsets overlooking an amazing view of the surrounding valley! Matt has filled the home with everything you could ever want to unwind and escape from your busy life. The home is spotless and filled with all of the amenities and has such warmth and was so homey yet elegant and simple. Our family really enjoyed our stay! Upon our arrival we were greeted by Kat and she gave us a tour of the home and showed us where everything was and how to use things. She was a great joy to meet! We will definitely be returning for another stay at the Box House! It was the highlight of our trip to LA!”

“The Box House was breathtaking. Waking up each morning was akin to waking up in a movie. The views from the bedroom and sitting room over the hills were beautiful all day but especially at dawn and dusk. Matt has taken enormous trouble to create a spa experience and everything from the open layout of the home to the delicious scents felt luxurious. For anyone with an interest in art and design, Matt has thoughtfully filled the house with stunning artwork and books. If you are a gourmet cook, you will love the well-equipped kitchen with beautiful books, including those from local restaurants to inspire you. We’ve been inundated with interest in Matt’s home based on our social media posts and deservedly so.”

“This is an exceptional house, and the best Airbnb property I’ve ever stayed at by far. The photos are accurate though don’t fully do the property justice. The sunrise and sunsets over the canyon are spectacular, and the house has a comfort level and warmth that other architectural masterpieces lack. If you’re an aesthete, there is so much for you here — from asymmetrically-placed, oblong toilets, to thoughtful sliding doors (creating seamless indoor-outdoor living), and Aesop products aplenty. The house is full of books on LA, architecture, and photography, which we all enjoyed. The bulthaup kitchen is well-stocked with high-end appliances and easy to use. Easy check-in and Matt was a dream of a host, giving us detailed recommendations for hikes when asked. Matt was also kind enough to mail back earrings we left at the house. We were a group of six women and very comfortable in the house. The house would also work well for a couple as the master bedroom is magnificent. The two other bedrooms are smaller and cozy but perfectly comfortable. Location can’t be beat - 7 min. drive from Trader Joe’s and West Hollywood. This one is worth the hype.”
